Now that fall is in full swing I’m starting to retreat into my color shell but I thought before I descend into my cave of all thing navy and black I would shower you with my latest color obsession. If my post on Tuesday did introduce you to my love for all things yellow then this surely will. I have recently been loving shades of mustard and citron to be exact, I seem to always have a color that captures my attention each season. I think Autumn has me exploring poppy red this year I already have my eye on several pieces to add to my closet.

Add Some Peplum To Your Step…

Style-Focus

CYMERA_20130123_154506This summer one trend that stuck out to me the most was the Peplum… it hit runways and transitioned beautifully into mainstream fashion. Now that summers over I was afraid that this new trend that seemed to have staying power was going to fade into the fog of summer trends gone by. Well I am very happy to tell you that that seems to not be the case when it comes to the peplum. It here, its flare, and its not going anywhere (for now anyway).

The one question that buzzed in my mind was “How do you transition a summer look into a fall outfit that fits the seasons ever changing weather?”

I didn’t have to ask my self this for too long because with the help of my lovely friend and little sister  Tola, I am now able to not only answer this question but I can also give you a few pointers on the do’s and dont’s of how to transfer your favorite peplum look into the fall and maybe even the winter.

Whether its by adding a motorcycle and some biker boots for a winters day or a blazer and some wedges and pairing both styles with an always chic infinity scarf. I love layering. Dont be afraid to layer your outfits because the one thing that benfits you in cold weather is layering. Just because your outfit has a peplum doesnt mean you can layer a croped sweater or somethng that will keep you cozy.

Winter Survival Guide

Beauty, General

Something Strange happens to me in the winter… I think I hibernate from fashion… Maybe its the cold weather or maybe its the fact that I shy away from any outdoor activity because im FREEZING! (sorry for yelling lol) but if im home I tend not to wear makeup (you know, “take me as I am” and all…) but I tend to limit my makeup routine to outings and special occasions only. But there’s always that time when I run out the house to do something or get something and I forget that the hibernating bear that lives within my home (me).. side-note: Dont you guys love the cleaver name my mom came up with to describe me in the winter?.. n.e.hoo… the aforementioned bear really should not be seen roaming the streets of Philadelphia untamed. So here’s a list of things that can take me from she-beast to blushing beauty without overdoing it in matter of minutes. It’s all pretty self-explanatory why I love them so much (they are the best of the best), but if you want to know my thought simply leave a comment and I’d love to share my thoughts with you.

Whats your winter top five? Beauty or otherwise? Feel free to comment.
